TIC Priority Tourism Destinations
National Architecture Competition
The Ministry of Tourism of Indonesia launched the TIC Design
Competition in cooperation with the Creative Economy Agency
of Indonesia (Bekraf) and Propan Raya.
Former Minister of Tourism Arief Yahya asked us to create
innovative ideas and designs for investors to accelerate the
development of Indonesia’s 10 prioritized tourism destinations,
or the so-called 10 New Bali’s, by building TIC, which could
enhance tourism for the better.
The designs are focused in adapting local architecture and
spaces, as well as applying modern programs with local
potentials to promote Morotai and Tanjung Kelayang as
tourist destinations. Augmenting local potentials with inclusive materials that fit into
each site becomes the underlying cause of both designs.
